A Massapequa Park man was arrested Wednesday morning after operating a motorcycle more than 100 mph on the Long Island Expressway and then fleeing police, Suffolk County police said.

The arrest of Christopher Rios, 25, came after an anonymous person called 911 at 8:10 a.m. to report a motorcyclist speeding eastbound on the LIE near Exit 51, police said.

When highway patrol Officer Thomas Joy tried to pull the motorcyclist over near Exit 55 Rios accelerated and wove in and out of traffic, police said.

Officer Robert Copozzi of the motor carrier safety section noticed the driver speeding later at Exit 58 and arrested Rios when he exited the expressway and pulled over at a nearby worksite on Expressway Drive North in Islandia, police said.

Rios is charged with unlawful fleeing of a police officer, reckless driving and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He also racked up multiple vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.
