A man leaving a Levittown restaurant where he works was beaten by two other men late Friday, Nassau County police said.

Carlos Alfredo-Rivera and Darwin Noel Caballero, both 20 and of Saddle Lane in Levittown, are charged with second-degree assault in the attack, police said Monday.

Second Squad detectives said a man, 30, was leaving the Escorza Restaurant at 2715 Hempstead Tpke. at about 11:10 p.m. when both Alfredo-Rivera and Caballero approached him.

Alfredo-Rivera grabbed the victim and punched and kicked him numerous times after throwing him onto the ground, police said.

Caballero then struck the man over the head with an aluminum pipe, detectives said.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.

Alfredo-Rivera remained at scene and was arrested. Caballero fled but surrendered to detectives Monday, police said.

Alfredo-Rivero was arraigned Saturday.

Caballero also is charged with criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
