Cops: Cars vandalized in Valley Stream

At least a half-dozen cars on two streets near the Gibson Long Island Rail Road station in Valley Stream were vandalized overnight, Nassau County police said Friday.

A railroad spokesman said there were no reported incidents in the station parking lots used by railroad customers.

Police said no arrests have been made.

The incidents were all reported early Friday, police said, and the vehicles damaged were parked on Dubois Avenue and Dartmouth Street. Police said windows were broken on all six vehicles. Items were taken from one vehicle, police said, though they did not detail the extent of those thefts.

A police spokeswoman said the other incidents appeared to be "straight-up vandalism."
