A drunken driver ended up in the drink Monday evening in Seaford, crashing his Jeep into a creek alongside the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway, police said.

Richie Walker, 42, of St. Regis Street in Wantagh, drove his maroon 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee into the creek bed, just off the southern end of the expressway -- off the exit ramp to Merrick Road, Nassau County police said.

The crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. and, police said, Walker was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment and released into police custody.

He was arrested at about 8 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

Walker was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
