An Elmont man was arrested Thursday after he gave a forged prescription for codeine to his probation officer, Nassau police said.
Carl H. Francois, 26, of 672 Lenore Lane, was charged with possession of a forged instrument after an investigation by the Nassau Probation Department and the police Narcotics/Vice Squad determined the prescription was fraudulent, police said. Francois presented the prescription in July, and on Aug. 24, Francois' home was searched and officers discovered seven fraudulent credit cards in his bedroom.
On Thursday, Francois was arrested at the Nassau County Probation office in Mineola.
He was charged with eight counts of possession of a forged instrument 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
