Police are searching for four female suspects who investigators said attacked a woman on a street Sunday night in Cedarhurst, stealing her pocketbook.
The attack occurred near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Leroy Avenue at about 7:15 p.m., Nassau County police said.
Police said the victim, a 60-year-old woman, was walking from the Cedarhurst Long Island Rail Road station when she was approached by the four suspects, who began pummeling her with their fists -- then stole her pocketbook.
The victim refused medical attention, police said.
Police said one suspect is believed to be 6 feet tall with a thin build and medium length straight hair and wore a blue coat with workout-style pants and a black Halloween mask -- with white eyes. Two of the suspects were about 5-foot-5, both with heavy builds and wearing hoodies, police said.
Police did not give an approximate height for the fourth suspect, saying only that she wore light-colored jeans.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
