Police are searching for a group of men who they said robbed a teen at knifepoint on a street in Uniondale early Saturday, stealing his sneakers and his wallet.
The four suspects, traveling in a newer-model black Honda with what Nassau County police described as silver writing on the lower part of the windshield, then drove down the victim's block -- stopping in front of his house, revving the engine, then circling back onto the block three more times.
The street robbery took place on Babylon Turnpike at about 1 a.m., police said.
Police said the victim, an 18-year-old, was walking with friends when they were approached by the group of suspects in the Honda. The victim and his friends then tried to flee through back yards, but police said the 18-year-old was accosted in front of a home on Centennial Avenue, where one of the suspects punched him.
At least one of the suspects had a knife, police said.
The suspects then punched and kicked the victim, stealing the wallet and a pair of pink Nike sneakers, before fleeing, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
