Cops: Great Neck woman stole $300G from music academy

A Great Neck bookkeeper was arrested and charged Friday in the theft of $300,000 from a Manhasset music school in which signatures were forged on company checks, Nassau County police said.

Linda Pilla, 53, of 93 Arleigh Rd., had worked for The Music Institute of Long Island in Manhasset since 1997, the department said, and used funds to make payments to herself and her credit card.

After an investigation, Pilla surrendered to detectives at police headquarters in Westbury, police said. She was charged with two counts of grand larceny and two counts of possession of a forged instrument.

Pilla was scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
