Cops investigate Massapequa Dairy Barn robbery

Nassau County police are looking for a masked man who robbed a Massapequa Dairy Barn store Monday with a serrated weapon, possibly a dry wall saw, Seventh Squad detectives said.

The man walked into the Dairy Barn at 907 N. Broadway at about 9:15 p.m., showed the weapon and demanded money from the cashier, police said.

The man, who wore a black ski mask, then reached into the register, taking an unspecified amount of money. He then fled on foot, south on North Maple Street, police said.

Police said the weapon could have been a drywall knife, about 8 inches to 10 inches long, with a reddish handle.

No injuries were reported. No customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
