Cops: Man flashes gun during Elmont robbery
A 63-year-old man was robbed in broad daylight Saturday in Elmont by a man who flashed a gun, Nassau County police said.
The victim was walking on 240th Street near 16th Avenue just after 10 a.m. when a man described as being in his 20s walked up to him and demanded money, police said.
After threatening the victim with a handgun, police said, the robber pulled the man's money and cellphone out of his pocket and ran off. The victim was not injured.
Police said the suspect was 5-foot-3 with a slight build, wearing a yellow jacket, brown hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and yellow sneakers.
