Nassau County detectives were investigating a robbery Tuesday in which the victim met the thief on a social networking website, police said.
The thief, a woman who police said was working with two armed men, helped rob the male victim at about 12:15 a.m., as she sat in his car near Grove Street in Hempstead, Third Squad detectives said.
The woman had arranged the meeting through the website, police said. As they sat in the car, the two men, each armed with a handgun, approached the vehicle, demanding cash from the man, police said.
When the victim did not comply, one of the men struck him in the face with the handgun, police said. The three took $100 in cash and the man's cellphone from his glove compartment before forcing him out of his car and driving off at a high rate of speed, police said.
The vehicle they were in hit three parked cars at Greenwich and Grove streets. All three then got out and ran off.
Police said the victim suffered a bruise on his nose but refused medical attention at the scene.
