A Manhattan man was arrested Tuesday after using fake identification to withdraw more than $39,000 from the bank accounts of a Hewlett man over the last six weeks, Nassau police said.
Dwight M. Brown, 48, went to banks in Brooklyn to withdraw the money from the victim's savings and checking accounts between early October to mid November, police said. Police did not say what form of fake identification was used.
He was arrested 6:45 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 210 W. 118th St., and charged with seven counts of third-degree grand larceny and first-degree identity theft.
At Brown arraignment, bail was set at $14,000. The name of his attorney was not immediately available.
