Cops: Nothing found after Hempstead Village schools bomb threats

The high school and middle school in the Village of Hempstead were evacuated as a precaution Friday morning following a bomb threat, with searches finding nothing, police said.

The evacuation about 11:30 a.m. affected the high school on President Street and the Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School on Greenwich Street, village police said.

Classes resumed at the middle school at about 12:40 p.m., police said, with the high school dismissed for the day at about 1:05 p.m.
