Cops probe Farmingdale purse-snatching

Police are searching for two men involved in a purse-snatching Sunday afternoon in Farmingdale.

The victim, described only as a 54-year-old woman, was knocked down during the 1:31 p.m. robbery on Genova Court but declined medical attention, Nassau County police said.

The victim was walking when the two men, described as being in their late teens or early 20s, grabbed her pocketbook -- knocking her to the ground, police said.

One of the robbers was about 5-foot-9 with a stocky build. He wore dark shorts, a white T-shirt and a dark baseball cap, police said. Police said the other man wore dark cargo shorts and a white T-shirt.

The pocketbook contained cash and personal papers, police said. It was not clear how much money was taken.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
