Cops probe Sunday morning bank robbery in Plainview

Nassau police are investigating the Sunday morning robbery of a TD Bank branch in Plainview.

A suspect entered the 500 Old Country Rd. bank at 11:50 a.m. and passed a demand note to a teller, police said.

The teller handed over an undetermined amount of money, and the suspect fled, heading north on South Oyster Bay Road, police said.

The five workers and nine customers in the bank at the time were not injured.

The suspect was described as a male, 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He wore a tan hooded sweatshirt.

Detectives urge anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will be kept anonymous.
