Nassau County detectives are searching for a man they believe is responsible for a burglary Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Massapequa.
Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at the church, at 855 Carmans Rd., around 4:15 p.m. They discovered a break in a glass alcove door and found an unknown amount of money was gone from a donation box in the church's lobby.
Police describe the suspect as a man, 30 to 35 years old, 5-foot, 6 inches tall, with a thin build and wearing a baseball cap and yellow slicker.
