Cops seek gunman who robbed Baldwin gas station minimart

Police are searching for a man who, armed with a black handgun wrapped in a T-shirt, robbed a Mobil gas station minimart Tuesday in Baldwin.

The armed robbery occurred at the Grand Avenue station just after 11 p.m., Nassau County police said. There was one employee at the station at the time; he was not injured.

Police said the suspect entered the minimart, showed the gun and said the 22-year-old employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled on foot westbound onto Stratford Road, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
