Cops seek suspect in Lynbrook bank robbery

A Lynbrook bank was robbed Wednesday morning by a man who displayed a demand note to a teller and left with an undetermined amount of money, police said.

The robbery occurred at 9:08 a.m. at the Bethpage Federal Credit Union at 613 Sunrise Hwy., Nassau police said. Four workers were in the bank, but no customers. No one was injured.

The suspect, last seen walking east toward Broadway, was described as black, about 40 to 50 years old, 6 feet to 6-foot-2 inches tall, with a large build. He wore "a light-colored baseball cap, three quarter length dark green jacket, jeans and aviator-type sunglasses," police said in a news release.

Detectives urge anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
