Cops: Two hurt in William Floyd Parkway crash

Two people were injured in a one-car crash early Friday on the William Floyd Parkway on the Yaphank-Upton border, police said.

The crash occurred on the northbound roadway, north of the Long Island Expressway, at 1:16 a.m., Suffolk police said.

The driver, identified only as a woman from Riverhead, lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. There was no criminality involved.

Police said the woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where it was determined she had non-life-threatening injuries. A male passenger was transported via Ridge Fire Department Ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, also with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
