A 53-year-old attendant at United Gas in Uniondale said he was approached by a gunman who robbed him Thursday night as he worked at the station on Front Street.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, told Nassau County police "an unknown male" approached him Thursday at 9:30 p.m., displayed a silver handgun tucked in his waistband and demanded cash. The attendant said he handed the gunman money - and said the gunman then fled the scene on foot.
It is not clear how much money was taken.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
