Cops: Uniondale High student stabbed teen
A Uniondale High School student was arrested Wednesday by Nassau police, who said he stabbed a fellow student in the back and neck.
Oscar Castaneda, 20, of 537 Clarendon Rd. in Uniondale, approached a 16-year-old student in the school lunchroom about 11:39 a.m. and stabbed him repeatedly with a "sharp object," according to police.
The victim was hospitalized with a punctured lung, but police Wednesday night said the injuries were not life-threatening.
First Squad detectives said they knew of no motive for the attack.
Castaneda was charged with first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He was to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
