Cops: UPS supervisor stole cell phones from shipping boxes

A Queens man working as a part-time United Parcel Service supervisor in Uniondale has been arrested for stealing cell phones from shipping boxes, Nassau County police said.

Vladimir Duchard, 26, of East 3rd St., Queens, allegedly stole seven T-Mobile cell phones between July and Dec. 15, police said. Each phone was valued at $355.91, and police said they found one of the phones on Duchard when he was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the UPS facility in Uniondale.

A UPS security supervisor uncovered the thefts and reported the incidents, police said.

Duchard was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead and released Wednesday morning. He is scheduled to return to court Friday.
