A 20-year-old man was arrested after he intentionally hit an acquaintance with a car in a gas station parking lot Sunday in Valley Stream, police said.

Jeremy Nin, of 29 N. Montgomery St., Valley Stream, was arrested at his home and charged with second-degree assault and with leaving the scene of an auto accident with injury without reporting it, Nassau County police said.

He is scheduled for arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said Nin was in front of his house when he saw the victim, whose identity was not released, walking east on West Merrick Road at about 9 a.m.

Nin, who police said knows the victim, then got in his car and followed the other man to a nearby BP gas station -- where Nin struck him with his car, sending the other man flying onto the car's hood.

Nin then drove home, leaving the victim in the lot, police said.

The victim suffered bruises and lacerations and was transported to a hospital for treatment, police said.

The nature of the dispute between the two men was not immediately known, police said.
