A West Hempstead woman was in bed asleep when her home was burglarized during the night, Nassau police said Thursday.

The 68-year-old woman awoke to find that unknown suspects had entered her home on Jackson Avenue through an unlocked rear window, police said. After removing the window screen, police said, they took two laptop computers.

The burglary took place between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Detectives asked that anyone with information about the crime contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
