A Floral Park man facing charges in three thefts from vehicles in Franklin Square pleaded not guilty Saturday at his arraignment at First District in Hempstead.
Bail for Daniel Cappelli, 37, was set at a $16,000 bond or $7,000 cash. He faces two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, petty larceny, third-degree forgery and third-degree identity theft.
Officers responded to a call about a theft from a vehicle at 1040 Hempstead Tpke. at 4:53 p.m. Friday, Nassau County police said Saturday.
Officers were given a description of Cappelli at the crime scene and later found him a short distance away, where he was arrested, police said.
A subsequent investigation revealed that Cappelli, of 134 Violet Ave., had taken property from two other parked vehicles in Franklin Square since June, police said.
On June 8, he allegedly took property from a car in the parking lot of 740 Hempstead Tpke. and from another on July 5 parked at 990 Holzheimer St.
Cappelli is also accused of making fraudulent purchases with the victim's credit card in the Holzheimer Street theft.
Cappelli is due back in court in Mineola on Tuesday.
