A 23-year-old New Cassel woman walking home from work Wednesday was arrested after leaving her three young children unsupervised at home, Nassau police said.

Ebony Robinson, of Roman Avenue, was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Third Precinct officers, responding to a call about young children being left alone, found the youngsters, ages 2, 5 and 6, home alone and unsupervised. The officers located Robinson near the intersection of West John Street and Newbridge Road in Hicksville, where she was arrested at about 12:35 p.m., police said.

Police said the children were taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation and were released into the custody of Child Protective Services.

Robinson was arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead and released with conditions. A temporary order of protection was issued against her.

Robinson could not be immediately reached Thursday afternoon. She was represented at arraignment by Legal Aid, which has a policy of not commenting on cases.
