Eisenhower Park unpermitted frat party draws 200 — and police

Social media alerts about a fraternity party brought about 200 mostly college-aged people to Eisenhower Park in East Meadow on Saturday afternoon — as well as police, who dispersed the crowd because they didn’t have a required permit.

About 40 Nassau County police units descended on the park to break up the unauthorized gathering, a police spokesman said. No one was arrested, he said.

Leon Taylor, 23, of Rockville Centre said he was looking forward to having fun at the fraternity party but police were shutting it down as soon as he arrived.

“It doesn’t bother me, I was just doing something,” Taylor said.

After police dispersed the crowd, more than 100 of the partygoers poured onto the Burger King and Wendy’s parking lots across Hempstead Turnpike.
