About 250 people were evacuated from a six-story building in Hempstead after an electrical fire, officials said.

The residents of 400 Fulton Ave. were moved to Kennedy Memorial Park after a fire on the second floor, said Nassau County Assistant Chief Fire Marshal Michael Uttaro.

No injuries were reported, and four local fire departments responded, he said. Officials from the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office and the county Office of Emergency Management also responded.

Uttaro said he did not know when residents could return to the building.

The RedCross has opened a relief center for residents at the Kennedy Park Recreation Center, 335 Greenwich St.
