Elmont teen reported missing, Nassau cops say

The Missing Persons Squad is looking for an Elmont teen for whom “it is not unusual” to go missing for days at a time, Nassau County police said.

Joshua Mayes, 15, disappeared from his home on Hendrickson Avenue in Elmont at about 9 a.m. Saturday — and hasn’t been seen since, police said..

“It is not unusual for [the] missing to be away from his home for days,” police said in a news release Wednesday, adding: “A probable destination is unknown.”

Police asked anyone with information about Mayes’ whereabouts to call 911 or the Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347. All calls will remain confidential.
