The Glen Cove City Council’s next meeting will be at North Shore Historical Museum.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. July 26 at the museum, 140 Glen St. A free tour of the museum for all city residents will be offered at 7 p.m.
Mayor Reginald Spinello said in a statement that with the 350th anniversary of the founding of Glen Cove coming in 2018, “now is the perfect time to start building the momentum for the celebration by inviting residents to get acquainted with our city’s rich history.”
Council meetings are typically held only once a month during the summer.
A special meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall on proposed tax breaks for the Garvies Point waterfront development. It follows a regularly scheduled council work session that begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the second-floor conference room of City Hall.
