Five students taken for observation after car hits minibus in Hempstead, officials say

Five students were transported to a hospital for observation after the school minibus they were on was struck by a car on a street in Hempstead early Tuesday, officials said.
Hempstead police said the crash occurred at 7:52 a.m. on Baldwin Road near the intersection of Long Beach Road.
It was not clear if anyone in the car was injured.
The minibus was operated by First Student Inc., and a spokeswoman for the company said there were five students aboard en route to the Grace Lutheran School.
The students were all transported for observation as a precautionary measure. Additional details were not available.
