A Bay Shore man wanted by police in one CVS robbery and a string of thefts from the drugstore chain in Nassau County was arrested during a traffic stop Friday night, authorities said.
Joseph Pisano, 44, of 1184 Hyman Ave., was arrested about 8:30 p.m. during a traffic stop by Lake Success officers when it was discovered he was driving with a suspended license, Nassau County police said.
Nassau police could not immediately say why Pisano was pulled over.
During a subsequent investigation, Pisano was identified as the suspect sought by Fourth Precinct detectives in connection with a March 24 robbery at a CVS store on East Merrick Road in Valley Stream as well as thefts on four other occasions from the drugstore chain, including one from the same Valley Stream store on Feb. 3, police said. The other thefts occurred March 16 on North Central Avenue in Valley Stream, Feb. 27 on Merrick Road in Rockville Centre and Nov. 11, 2014, on Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside, police said.
Pisano is charged with third-degree robbery, second-degree reckless endangerment and four counts of petty larceny as well as first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.
Pisano was expected to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
