The westbound Long Island Expressway between Exits 36 and 37 reopened at about 8 a.m. Wednesday after an overturned tractor trailer dumped debris onto the road, Nassau County police said.

The truck overturned near Exit 37, Powerhouse Road/Willis Avenue in North Hills, at about 4 a.m., police said in a traffic advisory. No injuries were reported, according to the advisory.

The expressway was closed westbound for several hours as workers got the truck upright and removed debris from the road.

The truck had a load of gravel, according to reports.

Traffic had been diverted off the highway near Willis Avenue, police said, and traffic was slow on alternate routes, including the Northern State Parkway.
