A Uniondale High School teacher accused of raping a minor pleaded not guilty Thursday at his arraignment on a 13-count indictment including sex crimes charges, officials and court records said.

Lionel Harvey, 38, was released on $150,000 bond after the proceeding in Nassau County Court, authorities said. He is due back in court on Sept. 14.

His attorney could not be reached for comment.

Harvey, who at one time taught AP-level world history at the high school, was charged in May with raping a minor. Sources have said that the alleged victim is not a student at the school.

The charges in the indictment include first-degree rape, first-degree attempted rape, second-degree rape, first-degree sex abuse, endangering the welfare of a child. All but the endangering charge are felonies.
