No suspects found in street shooting

A man was shot once in the head on a street in Wyandanch Sunday evening, but his injuries are considered non-life-threatening, police said.

Suffolk County police said the shooting happened at 45 Andrews Ave. at about 9:30 p.m. Just one shot is believed to have been fired.

The man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, police said. No one has been arrested in the shooting, and police said Monday that the investigation is ongoing.- John Valenti


Police: Man held in counterfeit DVD sale

A Queens man was arrested Sunday for selling counterfeit DVDs at a McDonald's in Hicksville, police said.

Nassau County police said Linguang Wang, 51, of 25th Avenue in College Point, was charged with second-degree trademark counterfeiting and second-degree failure to disclose the origin of a recording. He was scheduled for arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said officers responding to a complaint that Wang was soliciting customers at the McDonald's found him in possession of more than 180 counterfeit DVDs and 32 pirated CDs. An additional 21 counterfeit DVDs were later recovered from his vehicle, police said.- John Valenti
