Long Island Expressway briefly shut by car fire, officials say

A car fire Wednesday morning caused the temporary closing of westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway at the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway, officials said.

The lanes reopened at 10:25 a.m. after having been closed at 9:54 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation website.

Nassau County police said there were no injuries.
