Power to all customers has been restored after more than 2,000 homes and businesses lost electrical power in the Hempstead, East Meadow and Uniondale areas Monday night, officials from the power company serving Long Island said.
But the source of the mishap was still unknown.
PSEG Long Island spokeswoman Elizabeth Flagler said that the outage affected just over 2,000 people at its peak Monday evening.
All customers had their power restored by 9:04 p.m., PSEG said.
Customers in other parts of Nassau also experienced outages at that time, according to PSEG’s website, which had posted the total number of outages at about 3,200 in the Town of Hempstead.
