Man charged with slashing East Meadow bar bouncer

After being denied entry to an East Meadow bar because he was underage, a Lynbrook man allegedly slashed and stabbed the security employee who turned him away, Nassau County police said.

Thomas L. King Jr., 20, of 46 Treadwell Ave., Lynbrook, has been arrested on charges of assault and possession of a dangerous weapon after the alleged incident on Feb. 26, according to First Squad detectives.

Police said King and three friends tried to enter RC Dugan's Bar on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow around 1:53 a.m. on Feb. 26. A man, 40, who was working security at the bar denied them entry, police said.

King became upset, fought with the victim and slashed him in the face, head, throat and abdomen. King then left the scene with his three friends in a dark-colored auto, police said.

Police arrested King Tuesday at his residence, after an investigation that included Nassau County's bureau of special operations and the Lynbrook police department.

King was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday at in First District Court in Hempstead.
