Man in Inwood attacked by teens, who take his cellphone

Nassau County police are looking for six people believed to be teenage males who attacked a man and stole his cellphone in Inwood on Tuesday night.

Police said a 26-year-old man was walking on Morris Avenue about 6:36 p.m. when he was approached by six males, believed to be between 16 and 18 years old, who began punching him. The man was able to run away a few blocks, but the suspects caught up to him and continued to beat him while they stole his cellphone, police said.

The man was eventually able to break free and run down Mervin Street, police said, and the suspects fled. The victim suffered minor injuries, police said.
