Nassau County police said they arrested a Hempstead man Tuesday in connection with the August shooting of a 14-year-old riding a bicycle.

Police said Manuel De Jesus Sosa Marquez, 22, was the passenger in a 1995 Honda on Aug. 6 when he fired three shots at a 14-year-old boy who was riding his bicycle on Argyle Avenue and Davis Street in Uniondale about 11:50 a.m. The boy was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his upper torso, police said.

Special Investigations detectives found Marquez on Tuesday at his home at 148 Brown Ave. and arrested him, police said.

Marquez is charged with second-degree attempted murder and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
