Nassau police have charged a Dix Hills man in connection with the April 9 robbery of a Plainview bank.

Max Schneider, 26, of Vernon Avenue was arraigned Tuesday on third-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny charges in First District Court in Hempstead, officials said. He pleaded not guilty and was being held on $50,000 cash or $50,000 bond and is due in court July 31, according to court records.

His attorney could not be reached for comment.

Major Case Bureau detectives said a suspect entered the TD Bank at 500 Old Country Rd. at about 10:45 a.m. that day and gave a teller a demand note. The teller complied, police said, handing an undetermined amount of money to the suspect.

Police said the suspect ran south through the parking lot toward Old Country Road and then north on Norma Street. Only four employees were in the bank; no one was injured.
