Nassau police working with federal agents arrested a man and woman Tuesday on charges of selling heroin to undercover officers who responded to an ad on Craigslist, authorities said.

The Narcotics Vice Bureau worked with agents from a Drug Enforcement Administration federal task force to contact Michael Fardella, who police said was selling the drug MDMA, advertised as "Party Favors," and heroin, advertised as "buns," on Craigslist, authorities said.

Agents from the task force along with members of the narcotics bureau set up a meeting in Bay Shore with Fardella, 31, and Kiara Adames, 23, authorities said. Police said Fardella and Adames showed up at 838 Sunrise Hwy. and sold 30 envelopes of heroin to an agent before being arrested by members of the Nassau Bureau of Special Operations. Police said Fardella also had an additional 30 envelopes of heroin.

Both Fardella, of 1139 Namdac Ave. in Bay Shore, and Adames, of 19 Lenox Ave. in Central Islip, were charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
