A motorcyclist was killed Friday when his 2004 Harley-Davidson collided with a truck on Hempstead Turnpike in Farmingdale, Nassau police said.

The motorcyclist, 52, whose name was not released, was traveling west on Hempstead Turnpike shortly before 9 p.m. when he collided with a 1998 GMC Yukon that was making a left turn onto the eastbound roadway.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:50 p.m.

The Yukon's driver, 48, was not injured.

The Yukon was released from the scene after passing a brake and safety inspection. The motorcycle was impounded for safety checks.

Police do not suspect any criminality, but the investigation is ongoing.
