A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after an accident in Lawrence,, Nassau police said Monday.
At about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, the rider, 38, was on his 2004 Suzuki motorcycle going east on Seagirt Boulevard when he entered the north ramp onto Nassau Expressway, Route 878, struck a curb and lost control, police said.
The motorcyclist was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered multiple facial and skull fractures, police said. He was airlifted by the Nassau police Aviation Unit and taken to a nearby hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for brake and safety checks. Police said there was no apparent criminality but the investigation is ongoing.
