Nassau County has postponed its annual July Fourth fireworks show until Sunday, because of potential rain and lightning Saturday evening, the parks department said.

The fireworks display, presented by the county, Fireworks by Grucci and TD Bank, will take place Sunday, starting promptly at 9:30 p.m. at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, said Cindy Gillen, an events coordinator for the Nassau County Parks Department. She said the county’s Office of Emergency Management advised to postpone the event because of possible heavy thunder, lightning, rain and high winds Saturday night.

Tickets for Saturday’s fireworks show, which were free at Long Island TD Bank locations, will be valid on Sunday. The event’s lineup remains the same, with one exception: The rock band Undercover will take the place of the Idol Kings, a Journey and John Mellencamp tribute band that had originally been scheduled to perform Saturday night.
