Nassau police seek attacker in Uniondale home robbery

Nassau County police are searching for a man who attacked and robbed a woman in her bedroom early Saturday morning in Uniondale.

Police said a man entered a 19-year-old woman's bedroom shortly before 5 a.m. and made a sexual advance toward her. He then punched her in the mouth, causing a small cut on her lip.

The man stole her cellphone and cash, and then ran away on Newport Road toward Front Street, police said.

Authorities described the suspect as between 40 and 50 years old, about 6-feet-tall and about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt. The woman said he may have had a Caribbean accent.
