Nassau police seek Massapequa bank robber

A man robbed a Massapequa bank Sunday afternoon, Nassau police said.

The suspect entered the TD Bank, 5555 Merrick Rd., about 12:48 p.m. and handed a teller a demand note, police said. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot northbound on Carmen Mill Road, police said.

The suspect was described as being in his 20s, 5'6, with a medium build and black hair, police said. He was wearing black sunglasses, a black baseball cap and a faded red or pink zippered sweatshirt and jeans, police said.

Five bank employees and one customer were inside the bank at the time of the robbery, but no one was injured.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
