Nassau police seek pair who robbed Elmont man on the street

Nassau police are looking for a man and a woman who jumped out of a car and robbed a man while he was walking in Elmont on Thursday morning.

Police said the 23-year-old man was walking north on Louis Avenue at 11:10 a.m. when a silver 4-door car with yellow New York State license plates stopped right in front of him, and a man and a woman got out. The man restrained the victim while the woman went through his pockets and took out his cellphone and an unknown amount of cash. The pair then fled in the car southbound on Louis Avenue, police said.

Police said the man was described as clean-shaven and about 35 years old with short black hair, a tattoo on his left upper arm and wearing blue shorts and a blue baseball cap. The woman was described as about 25 years old and wearing ripped blue jeans, a blue bandanna and black lipstick.

The victim wasn't hurt, police said.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
