Police are seeking two men who robbed a Westbury convenience store, stealing 200 packs of cigarettes early Tuesday morning, police said.
Nassau police said about 12:27 a.m., two men walked into the 7-Eleven at 635 Powells Lane and approached the cashier. The first suspect flashed a dark-colored handgun, then threw the cashier, who is 66, to the ground. The second suspect went behind the counter and began filling a black plastic bag with packs of cigarettes -- about 200 total, police said.
The first suspect then demanded the victim hand over money from the cash register. But before the cashier gave them the cash, both suspects fled, and were seen getting into a blue Honda Civic driven by a third suspect. Police said the Civic took off south on Powells Lane.
The first suspect is described as having a stocky build and is about 6 feet tall, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, a dark mask that covered his face and rubber gloves.
The second suspect is described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black hat, a black mask and rubber gloves, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
