Don't even think about drinking and driving this holiday season.
That's the message from Nassau County police. The department said additional DWI patrols will "aggressively seek out" impaired drivers Wednesday and Friday.
"Nassau County has a unique reputation of aggressively apprehending DWI offenders, particularly during those times of the year that traditionally impact our roadways," Nassau County Police Department Commissioner Lawrence Mulvey said in a statement Monday.
The extra patrols, which will complement the usual patrols, will be funded by a New York State STOP-DWI grant, Mulvey said in his statement.
The police will crack down on drunken and drug-impaired drivers. The enforcement campaign will be coordinated by the NCPD highway patrol.
